Launceston Alive Children and families Easter festival, Australia

CAPRO Mission Australia team set up tents, and activity stations and gave invitations to the gospel through badge making, bracelet making, balloon making and show bags with goodies and tracts

Each station had a gospel message as the activities progressed. We were intentional about how to create increasing opportunities for the gospel message through balloon making and it turned out to be our most popular attraction. People would come for the balloons; they’d notice the badges and the bracelets and wonder over to those stations as well. Everyone who visited left with a show bag with gospel messages inside

The badge-making saw huge results as we had as options pictures from the Easter story, so children participants would leave with a symbol of the gospel on their badge.

Some children were even making their own drawings of the crosses on a hill and decorating the background for themselves after being inspired by pictures we had on display.

The bead making was an amazing success as well. As patrons drew in to examine the different colours and hear how they represent parts of Gods story, they became involved in stringing the beads, following the booklet that explains the colours and hearing the word of God and the way to salvation. Parents would lean in and listen as their children and young people beaded. Some would ask  clarifying questions and others joined in on the explanation trying to help their child learn about God. One lady mentioned how they will use the colours to share with their extended family. Another added the blue for the beach and connected that to how we can be reminded to care for nature just like God cares for us.

Aaron had a guy inquire about the Easter eggs “isn’t Easter about eggs and chocolate?” He said, this gave Aaron to opening to share about the true meaning of Easter and in doing so, also share his testimony of coming to God. The fellow left enlightened and we pray for a softened heart and that this planted seed can germinate into fruit for the kingdom.

The festival on a whole was very well done. It was amazing to see so many churches and believers working together to share the gospel. It was certainly a blessing to see people walk into our tent with face paintings of the cross on a hill and inquiring of ways to share and understand the gospel through the things we were using. We praise God for an incredibly good turnout. The place was jam packed.  We praise God for great weather to be outdoors for all the tents that were set up sharing the word of God. We praise God for the bibles, tracts and every resource used in that place to spread the good news of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross. We pray for all those seeds planted, that they will take root in good soil and that the Holy Spirit will do His work in those hearts of the persons of peace. We are also praying for effective follow-up and discipleship for all who encountered Christ.God is at work in Australia. The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the labourers are few. We pray for God to send labourers to help continue the mission.
