Easter Evangelism Outreach – Shorewell Park, Australia.

The weather was beautiful, cool and not too sunny and soon after we finished packing up showers of rain came. God is indeed good and gracious.

We had many volunteers from different churches and the Pastors of Romaine Christian Church and Chinese Methodist Church were around to help. It was indeed good and pleasant to behold everyone working together in such harmony

We had different activities as well as music, free drinks and meals

Available to the community were opportunities to connect with the gospel message through bead bracelet making, badge making, balloon animals, and gift bags. All contained either a gospel message tract, bibles, or other materials.

On the tables were displayed Easter stories on craft wheels, story picture stones, picture puppets on paddle pop sticks,

There was an Easter scavenger Hunt with an opportunity to share the parts of the Easter story related to what they found before they received chocolate eggs as a treat. At the end of the scavenger hunt the invitation was given for “something new” to be learning about Jesus and they were invited to request this when they lined up for chocolates. I was amazed at how many children and young people were asking for “Jesus something new”. We were running out and trying to keep up with the demand for Bibles and information. I was very touched by this as I wasn’t expecting this response.

The gospel was spoken over the airwaves by Pastor Nick, Gospel music was played throughout the day even at the face painting station. There were sports activities on offer to engage the crowd and keep them at the park.

We were blessed by the group from the Chinese church who were taking people through the gospel message via the Easter story using the provided props, story stones, picture flip book, Easter-themed roll-a-box game, and the story wheel as people waited for balloon characters to be made for them.

People were blessed by the free gifts of sausage sizzle, hot cross buns, drinks and refreshments as they received the Holy Word.

Pastor Nick had some really good conversations with a couple of families about Jesus, and about church. He invited a number who were interested in youth and children’s ministry.

We are praying that the seeds planted will germinate and bear fruit. We are praying particularly for Yen, her young son and her partner. She is struggling with a lot and was happy to receive prayer but was too burdened to get into anything serious on the day. I catch up with her again tomorrow as she prefers to talk more privately. It was encouraging to see her close her eyes and sing along to one or two gospel songs she knew. It was clear that it was touching her heart. She cried as she sang. Please join us to keep Yen in your prayers that the Lord will be her breakthrough.

We are praying for the gentleman Jeremiah shared with. He stayed till the very end with his son and daughter. I believe he may be Hindu. He is struggling with a lot of Eastern religious beliefs and spiritism. Please join us in praying for the continued work of Christ that he will fully surrender to the one true God. We are also praying for little Azaylea who is on a journey. She faithfully sat and cut out circles to make Easter story wheels for the other young people to engage with. We pray for protection over her mind, soul & spirit. We are also praying that the Lord continues His work on Peter( invited by Pastor Johnny ) who had many questions about God, faith and disasters happening in the world. The Lord helped us to answer his questions pointing him to Christ as the only way to salvation. He left with a copy of the Bible promising to read it and declaring that “there is hope that I might be saved”.
