INTRODUCTION
Dear friends,
We know that whatever is born of God overcomes the world! This truth is the testimony of our dear Ministry. Calvary Ministries (CAPRO) is born of God. It was received by faith, nurtured by the Holy Spirit and is being preserved by God’s prevailing power as it continues to grow by God’s grace. We give all the glory to God for the great things He has done.
OUR PROFOUND RESPECT
With profound respect and unwavering responsibility, we honour the memory of our heroes of faith who made the ultimate sacrifice for this noble cause. Our hearts go out to their dearly loved family members. We acknowledge the steadfastness of God which has been sustaining them.
We remember those the Lord chose to pioneer, nurture and lead this Ministry from inception as well as those who partnered with them. Many have also gone ahead and are now resting in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ. But many more remain as veterans, providing support and encouragement to the younger generation. We pray the Lord to remember their work and reward them when He returns.
We express our deepest gratitude to the Almighty God for the lives of retired and serving Missionaries who have demonstrated remarkable obedience to the commands of Christ, especially as it relates to the Great Commission. These Missionaries have made incredible sacrifices, including leaving behind their families, giving up all that the world would have offered them, and living and working in often challenging and inhospitable places for the sake of the Gospel. Despite these difficulties, they have remained steadfast in their commitment to spreading the message of Christ to those who need it most.
We ask that the Lord continue to sustain and protect them as they go about their work. We also pray that they will remain faithful to the end, as they continue to share the love of Christ with those who are yet to embrace it. May their work be fruitful and bring glory to God. We give thanks and praise to the Lord for all the known and unknown partners of this work who in obedience to Christ and compelled by His love in their hearts and for the Kingdom, joined us in spreading His love and light. We are humbled by your unwavering support, and we honour your sacrifice of time, resources, and prayers. Your generosity has been a beacon of hope in the battle against the darkness, and we pray that the Lord will reward you richly for your faithfulness. May your love and obedience to Christ continue to inspire others to join us in building His Kingdom on earth.
CAPRO VISION
To see indigenous, autonomous and self-propagating bodies of believers among unreached People Groups (UPGs) of Africa and the rest of the world.
2021-2025 STRATEGIC GOAL
In 2019, we received a mandate from the Lord during the CAPRO Congress from Isaiah 54:2-3. From that mandate, we sought the Lord and established the 2021-2025 strategic goal: “Revamp CAPRO operations, and through regionalization, enter 20 new countries, plant 341 new churches among 56 unreached people groups (UPGs), deploy 315 new missionaries and raise 50,000 new partners in the power of the Holy Spirit by 2025.
MINISTRY UPDATES
Celebrating 49 years
Our renowned Ministry turns 49 years on the 25th of April 2024.
These years have been spent fighting the battle against the kingdom of darkness, rescuing those held in bondage and subjected to Apollyon’s tyranny. These years have been filled with both gains and a few losses, joy and pain, victories and defeats, abundance and scarcity, tears and laughter. But in all of these, we are more than conquerors through Christ.
We shall be celebrating the Lordship of Christ over the nations as well as our global partnership with the body of Christ on the 27th of April. I urge us to use this 49th anniversary to celebrate and honour the churches, organisations and faithful souls who have given their lives, resources and prayers to this vision. Their sacrifice has made our journey worthwhile. Today, let us pause and honour them. These 49 years have not just passed; they have etched eternity on the hearts of many.
Human Resources
CAPRO currently has 802 full-time serving soldiers of the cross on five continents, working among 108 tribes and planting churches within the 10/40 window, where the Gospel is most opposed. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we have planted 344 churches among 108 people groups over the years, with thousands of disciples proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord.
Hallelujah!
Operations
Since 2021, God has added eight new countries to our operations: Chad, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal,
Somaliland, Egypt, Ethiopia, Pakistan and Angola.
God is helping us establish a beachhead in China and Lebanon. We have carried out surveys as we envisage entering The Gambia this year and plan to expand our mission to Guinea Bissau by 2025, God willing. Our ultimate goal is to partner with the Body of Christ in each of these countries to bring the hope, love and compassion of the Lord Jesus to those who have not yet heard the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We thank God for our sister Organisations who have helped tremendously in absorbing our colleagues – married couples and singles providing them the needed pastoral care and giving them a sense of belonging. However, in the next few years, by God’s grace, we look towards strengthening our teams in these countries as God provides other team members to join them and as He grants us open doors.
2024 Congress
Esteemed Colleagues and Partners in Faith, the 2024 Congress starts on the 21st of April 2024 and runs through to the 28th of April 2024. This means that the CAPRO Day Celebration, which is on the 25th of April 2024 will be held during the Congress. The theme for the 2024 Congress is JESUS. Let us aim to model our lives after Jesus. We should follow His example in all aspects of our lives, including our leadership, ministries, families, teams, and relationships. He is God’s pattern Son. He says to all of us, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him”.
Golden Jubilee (CAPRO @ 50)
Dear friends, next year CAPRO will be 50 years old. This is a milestone we will be celebrating all over the world, counting our blessings, celebrating the souls won for the Lord and tribes, who through our efforts have become the kingdoms of our God and His Christ.
I urge us to seek the Lord and work together to organise various events to mark this season of celebration throughout the year to God’s glory. However, as we do so, let us remember what the Lord said to Joshua: “There remain many lands to possess”. It will be a year to honour our legacy, celebrate our shared mission, and rekindle the flames of our devotion. Let us mark it with reverence and joy. Let us remember the enlargement mandate we have received from our Commanding Officer, Jesus Christ.
JESUS – “The Ancient Landmark” and “The Ancient Path”
Beloved, the Lord has instructed us in Jeremiah 6:16 to return to the ancient landmarks and build according to the pattern that He showed us on the mountain, as stated in Exodus 25:40.
When the Lord speaks to us in this way, He is not asking us to go back to the old ways of doing things. He is not telling us to go back to the old strategies we used in the 70s and 90s. No, not in that sense, dear friends. There is only one “old way” and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the “ancient landmark” that we must never depart from. He is the only foundation upon which we must build and upon which our ministry must stand. He is the foundation laid by the Apostles. There is no other foundation that God has approved apart from Jesus. Finally, let us Press on, for the fields are ripe!
Happy 49th anniversary!
Your brother
